Urban design is about city and cultural policy; and citizens and their city traditions are engaged in on ongoing process of dialogue that is locally determined and deeply embedded.
Inviting experts and students from different cultures to share their views on the future of urban planning will certainly a great success: a cultural transplantation of various urban models onto local city plans.
I am convinced that this unique method adopted in this project will fuel our understanding of urban development and culture and will contribute greatly to a better understanding of the needs and wishes of a society which is tending more and more to globalisation.
